Uyghurs, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, and Radical Islam

This is the flag of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, it is the flag of the World Uyghur Congress, and it is the preeminent symbol of Uyghur resistance against the Chinese government.

The bipartisan House of Representatives salutes the courageous men and women of the World Uyghur Congress and the Uyghur Human Rights Project and all who continue the fight for the freedoms and democratic future that the Uyghur people deserve.

The World Uyghur Congress and the East Turkestan Independence Movement

The World Uyghur Congress is part of the East Turkestan independence movement (ETIM), and supports the independence of present-day Xinjiang, China to establish a Uyghur homeland.

The media in 2019 extols the World Uyghur Congress and the ETIM as beacons for freedom and democracy for Uyghurs. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Marco Rubio, among other high-profile public servants have expressed support for the World Uyghur Congress.

It is thus understandably shocking when on discovers that the ETIM is actually considered a terrorist group by many countries and the United Nations. Among the countries that have designated the ETIM as a terrorist group:

  • European Union
  • United States of America
  • United Kingdom
  • China
  • Russia
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Kazakhstan
  • Turkey
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Pakistan

The ETIM wants to establish a fundamentalist islamic state in western china

The ETIM was originally founded by Uyghur jihadists in western China. The publicly-professed goal of the ETIM is to call for the independence of Xinjiang from China for the purpose of establishing an Islamic fundamentalist state called “East Turkestan”.

The publicly-professed goal of the ETIM is to call for the independence of Xinjiang from China for the purpose of establishing an Islamic fundamentalist state called “East Turkestan”.

The ETIM has been involved in the war in Syria. It is allied with Al-Qaeda and the Pakistani Taliban. Uyghur fighters from western China have travelled to the middle east and joined ISIS.

Uyghur Islamic Clerics

Uyghur activism is not peaceful activism

Since 2007, over 1,000 people have been killed and over 1,200 people have been injured in China as a result of attacks by Uyghur separatists on innocent civilians.

Justice?

Today, the world is talking about the “concentration camps”. #CloseTheCamps is trending on Twitter. Congressmen and congresswomen have called out the atrocities of “Communist China”.

When will anybody speak for the victims of atrocious attacks perpetrated by the Uyghurs? The mother who will never see her child, the father who will never return home? Who will pay for the heinous crimes of these Uyghur terrorists? Why is the world silent?

On September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorists killed over 1,000 Americans in the World Trade Center attacks. A forceful global coalition, led by the United States, using those killings as justification and despite the lack of evidence, waged wars against Islamic homelands in the Middle East. In 2019, Uyghur terrorists have waged a war on innocent Chinese civilians, over 1,000 have been killed. What is the response?

Why is the world silent? Why is Speaker Pelosi not condemning Uyghur terrorism? Why is she standing on the side of these killers?

SHAME!
